On 8/20/05, our small band of theme park enthusiast braved 100+ degree weather to see Jeff Foxworthy perform @ 7:30. There was also the gratuitous video taping of Shenanigans Wild West Show for the boys & (really) Dale (alas, no pony tail guy – is there a trip to Atlanta in our future? At Cypress Gardens (Wild Adventure's Sister Park):
Lonestar (so close and yet so far) - we trekked down to the middle of nowhere - only to have a freakish thunderstorm with spotted tornados. Due to the wonderful Florida Weather, we decided to call it a day (and woo-hoo - eat at Sonic) when every ride we tried to get on instantly became closed. One could almost get a complex from something like that. To Cypress Gardens credit, the grounds are amazingly beautiful and they have a double carousel (none of our party had ever seen or been on one before - of note, this is the ONLY ride we actually got to finish during our trip).
But, like the troopers we are, we're heading back down on Labor Day weekend to see Dwight Yoakam perform & try out all the rides once again.
