Successful Kamikaze Weekend –

4 parks – 2 days

Every once in a while – you have a perfect weekend. Or, as perfect as it can get with our family.

This was one of those weekends!

I set out to do a few specific things (some we got to, others, well... it's good we have season passes!) At least the picture I had promised to Lou Mongello, author of Disney World Trivia book (and general all around super nice guy) was one of our accomplishments! After a few emails, he promised to make sure that we had our book before our last visit before the dreaded blackout period. For anyone debating - I HIGHLY recommend this book – I have to admit he even taught me a few things! www.disneyworldtrivia.com He’ll even autograph it for you – how’s that for personalization!?!

We did a ton of pin trading. Everyone finally got a chance to ride Everest. We all decided that MGM on a Star Wars weekend is a bit too crowded for our taste. And Magic Kingdom was just amazing – no major lines, everyone got a break (ie. kids from parents), we saw The Frontierland Band for the first time and I got to introduce Dale to her first taste of the magnificent (and much bragged about) Dole Whip Float.

By Sunday, we’d hit EPCOT for the Flower and Garden Festival (a first for our group too). We got lucky enough to run into the Egg Man – a long overdue meeting from February. His work is amazing and so reasonable!! www.EggManArt.com

Brian checked the time schedule and saw that Miyuki was performing in Japan. So we hopped on a boat (yet another first for us) and went over to Germany – walking the rest of the way to Japan (we got there about 30 minutes early). The kids camped out and all three got picked (unfortunately NOT one of the suckers made it out of the park intact). Caleb got a frog, Phillip got a turtle & Shawn got a scorpion. This is a MUST do if you see it on the times list – Miyuki is an amazing artist (and it’s FREE)!
Lunch was great! Even with my semi-melt down with the hostess. All ended well, I got the table I requested almost 2 months earlier & Caleb got his own birthday cake and card (signed by all the characters). This is the way to meet and greet!! We were there for over an hour – it’s a nice way to spend some downtime. The food was good & filling (as always) & you get tons of character interaction & the cast members are just fantastic.

All in all, there's not much more we could have asked for this weekend.

Well, other than another day.

Walt Disney Quote of the Month:

"Part of the Disney success is our ability to creative a believeable world of dreams that appeals to all age groups. The kind of entertainment we create is meant to appeal to every member of the family."
