We had planned a girls weekend months
in advance. With a bit of trivia digging, we realized this August was
actually our 20th Friendship anniversary - an even better reason to
celebrate! After some REALLY great present distribution - we headed
off to the Orlando area for boy-less fun & hotel hopping (sounds
nasty, eh?). |
|
I had an itinerary - a schedule that marveled even myself. All good Disney travel arrangements should have ADRS and a map - mine had both. But honestly, we could have just stayed right at the Polynesian and been completely happy. I had always been partial to the Contemporary myself, but we both agreed that if we were to die and go to heaven (like that's gonna happen) it would look just like the Polynesian (of course with character dining). |

I'm pretty sure the reason we loved
the Poly so much were the CM's. From our breakfast server who brought
lei's and anniversary cup cake; the CM's in the gift shop who saved
the missing digital camera for us; to the monorail drivers who let us
ride up front all day. But I have to say, Alex (CM extraordinaire) was
my favorite (although he wouldn't give up those nuts to Dale) - he spent
a good 45 minutes spewing forth Disney trivia that rivaled even the
most prolific Disney aficianado. Man, you are my hero - you love Disney
as much as we do and you get to come to work at the Polynesian EVERY
day. One day I'll grow up and be just like you... sigh. |

I think the reason our friendship
has survived this long is that one of us had to be the stable one...
and one of us had to push the other to do things she wouldn't normally
consider. I have always been the one dragging Dale along for the next
adventure, the mantra always being 'Come on, you're gonna love this.'
And she always tags along, wary and watching, but enjoying every step
of the way. This weekend was no different - Cafe Tu'Tu Tango is not
for the faint hearted. And she definetly looked out of place, but enjoyed
every bit of it all the same. We make a good pair, the yin and yang
of adventurous vacation - and life in general. |

I can't tell you one thing I would
change about our weekend. We had a blast - saw a ton of hotels - fell
in love with one special one - and had a great anniversary. And OMG
what a good picture day - that almost NEVER happens!! Can't wait until
the 21st!! |
